How it Works
1. Secure Your Booking
You pay a $150 deposit to secure your booking. Please make sure you do this well in advance, as I am often fully booked several months ahead. You don't have to know what size frame you want in order to make your booking, as I confirm that with you once your flowers are preserved. What I definitely need to know from you is whether you want your flowers pressed or air-dried, and if you want multiple frames (so I can preserve the right amount of flowers).

What's the difference?
Pressed flowers are flat, and air-dried blooms are 3D. The processes used to preserve flowers for each is very different, so I need to know right at the start which style you want. Once the process has started you can't change your mind.
Please note:
- 3D flowers are dried naturally in the air. This means they will come out wrinkled as per the example below. This option is not good for you if you have lots of delicate flowers such as cosmos (unless you are happy to exclude that flower from your artwork).
- Frames for 3D flowers do not allow for a glass back upgrade.

2. Deliver Your Flowers
It is your responsibility to get your flowers to me. Fresh flowers give the best results, so I will need to receive your blooms no later than 3 days after your event.
3. The Preservation Process
When your flowers are received they are conditioned to ensure they are at their best fresh potential before preservation begins.
Preservation involves deconstruction of your bouquet. Flowers are pulled out of your bouquet and separated into groups. In the case of pressing, some flowers are also pressed petal by petal. Preservation takes up to 8 weeks of consistent monitoring and adjustments depending on the flower and techniques required.
If flowers were pressed petal by petal, I reconstruct them into a flower again once they are dried. This is a very detailed and time consuming process.
4. Custom Frames
When your flowers are ready at the 8-week mark I get in touch with you to confirm your preferred frame style, colour and size. Once you have decided, the frame is custom ordered from my framer just for you. This is a hold point in the process, where you can take however long you need to make a decision.
5. Art Arrangement and Gluing
When I get the frame back I do a draft layout for you to approve before I glue anything down. That is your chance to tell me if you want any adjustments to your art. I allow for 2x adjustments to your art as part of the fee. Additional adjustments will be charged at an hourly rate of $35/hr. Please understand there will be minor variations to the arrangement as things are glued down.
The default art arrangement is my classic style in a Landscape orientation unless you specify something different. You can also choose my Meadow, Wallpaper, Corner Spray or something special such as incorporating vows/invitations.
Please allow a minimum of 12 weeks for your work to be completed.
Not sure what you want? Just let me know and we can work together to make something you love.
6. Pick up or Postage
Once the frames are ready I will let you know and we can arrange a pick up appointment after payment is received. If you want your artwork posted to you, I use a specialty courier who will give you a custom quote based on your location and the size/weight of your artwork. I pass this cost on to you as is (no mark ups) and it is included as part of your final payment.

Common Questions:
Will flowers change colour during the process, or fade over time?
Yes. Flowers are a natural product. Their colours change during the preservation process, and while often colours are retained for years they do slowly change and fade over time. Whites go ivory or beige, and most colours become duller. This is why your piece of art is dynamic - it's always evolving and changing, just like you.
Some ways to slow this process are to ensure your piece of art is kept away from damp areas, extreme temperature changes and direct sunlight.
Why do you need my flowers within 3 days?
Fresh, undamaged flowers preserve best. If they are older than this they are more likely to lose their colour during preservation.
What if my flowers are damaged on the day? Can you still work with them?
Yes! I will salvage the best flowers and make something that works. You can also consider integrating the survivors with ink hand drawing, or getting me to source you fresh blooms to work with.
Can you preserve all flower types?
These days I have the experience to press most flower types, although there are always challenges to overcome now and again. If you know what your bouquet is going to be made of and have concerns, get in touch with me to discuss what you're planning.
How can I ensure my flowers are in the best condition possible on my wedding day?
Wedding days are hectic - I understand! To ensure your bouquet survives the day in it's best condition, keep it hydrated. Have an empty vase of water either on your bridal table or to the side that you can put it in when you're not using it for photos or your ceremony. This is also a great way to cut costs! You and your bridesmaids flowers can be your bridal table decorations once you arrive at the reception. Just pop them in some vases when you sit down.
What if I want to press dried or artificial flowers?
It is much better to put something like this into a 3D Box frame. Pressing can't be carried out on pre-dried blooms without some risk. As flowers are old they may crumble to dust without the right care and attention. Please reach out and share photos of your flowers if you want to try pressing pre-dried blooms to make sure they're suitable for this treatment.
Artificial blooms can be pressed, but the fact they are artificial becomes more obvious.
Can you incorporate special things from my day?
Yes! People have incorporated ribbons, lace from their dress, charms, invitations. Your imagination is the limit - as long as I can fit it in the frame. I do this for no additional charge.
I have my bouquet from several years ago - is there anything you can do?
Absolutely! Don't let it keep gathering dust! We can put this into a 3D Box frame for you. I have a special pricing schedule for this service which removes the cost of preservation labour.
My special event is long gone - can you recreate my bouquet?
Of course! Get in touch with a florist who can source the flowers for you before we start the process. Usually this will happen in the month of your original event, when your flowers were available. I only need the stems, not a proper bouquet.
Will bits drop down over time?
I like to use minimal glue so you can see the subtle shadows petals create. This means that yes, you can expect to see the small filaments from the centres of flowers drop over time, but not the petals in a pressed piece. It is possible that some petals may fall from a 3D piece if it is handled roughly.
